Release. Restore. Reposture - Bring Your Body Back to its Natural Place
What is It?
Reposturing is deep, structural bodywork bringing the body back to it’s natural state of alignment. It also releases habitual constriction and contraction so the client can be active, strong and vital throughout life.
What does it do?
Reposturing effectively releases the restrictive “banding” that keeps muscles habitually contracted, and helps restore the body’s natural responsiveness and flexibility. The ultimate result is freedom of movement, release from pain, a greater sense of ease and an overall feeling of well-being.
What does Reposturing feel like?
Reposturing is and will feel like a very deep stretch. While it's not designed to be painful, resistance is felt as the muscles are encouraged to release. Unlike deep massage that feels relaxing during the session but may lead to next-day soreness, Reposturing is intense and leaves the client better and better as time goes by.
How long does Reposturing take?
Reposturing is a process generally running a course of several sessions. Four to eight sessions are typical, although individual courses of treatment may include fewer or more sessions. Each individual’s particular course of treatment will be outlined and discussed with the Reposturing Therapist at the client’s first appointment.
Is Reposturing Chiropractic?
Reposturing and Chiropractic are quite different. All parts of the body obviously work in concert. However, Chiropractic is principally concerned with aligning the spine. Reposturing focuses on what holds the skeleton in place the musculature and fascia that enables the body to move, bend, stretch-- and also sit, walk and work easily and freely.
Who needs Reposturing?
While Reposturing can be beneficial for people at all ages and stages of life, most people come to Reposturing after realizing they can no longer do what they once did. It may be someone who decides to re-visit a favorite sport and finds they’ve lost the strength or swing they once had. Or, someone who, despite regular visits to a massage therapist, finds the tension in their muscles never subside. People come to Reposturing when the aches and pains of daily living are making them feel, act, and look much older than they are.
The sad truth is, it’s not their fault. With all of the comforts modern life provides, it also encourages sitting, standing, moving and walking in unnatural ways. This leads to adopting habits counter productive to health and well-being.
Reposturing brings natural balance back to the body; and lets people know, often for the first time, what a healthy body feels like.
